Both Google Ventures and In-Q-Tel, the CiA’s investment arm, have injected sums into Recorded Future, a company that goes through “tens of thousands” of websites and looks for related actions and conversations between, for example, Twitter accounts, blogs and websites, and analyses them in order to spot events and trends as early on as possible.

Announced back at the f8 conference, the Insights dashboard is a revamped set of analytics on (anonymized) user data. It’s mostly targeted at app developers, publishers, and content owners who use Facebook and want to know what their audience likes so they can, you know, keep doing that.
